The Importance of Fair Trade Coffee Farming...
|
This week Brewed Awakening
is proud to showcase a fair-trade coffee farm in Ethiopia that they have
recently partnered with as part of a renewed initiative with Fair-Trade Coffee
USA. Brewed Awakening is making strides towards rebuilding partnerships with
fair-trade coffee farmers across the globe and in this case specifically, a local
fair-trade coffee farm in Ethopia. This
initiative by Brewed Awakening to once again use fair-trade only coffee farmers
and suppliers will ensure practices that are safe, healthy and environmentally
sound for everyone involved.
Fair-trade coffee practices are the principles that Brewed Awakening was founded upon. Over the course of time the company shifted
away from the practices that made the company stand apart from the competition
for years. Because Brewed Awakening has returned to fair-trade coffee practices only,
the company is able to proudly stand behind the products that they offer to their
consumers once again.

day.
According to the Global Exchange: “Fair Trade guarantees a minimum of
$1.26/pound (a living wage) and access to credit at fair prices to poor farmers
organized in cooperatives. These fair payments are invested in food, shelter,
health care, education, environmental stewardship, and economic independence. Fair Trade promotes socially and environmentally
sustainable techniques and long term relationships between producers, traders
and consumers.” Because this area in
Ethiopia is so poverty stricken many farmers choose to harvest khat, which is a
leafy narcotic in an attempt to make money.

In
fact, the Global Exchange explains that in this area farmers are actively
uprooting coffee crops in order to plant khat to survive. Situations like this make it so apparent as
to why it is so important to partner with fair trade farms, to change this
dynamic and make the world a better place, one community at a time. So much is invested not only in people but
also in the community because of fair trade practices and this is what makes
Brewed Awakening proud to partner up with farms just like this one in Ethiopia.
This particular farm employs close to
100 workers who spend their time trying to make a difference in not only their
community but also the world.

The SEO keywords cover almost every aspect of the crisis that
Brewed Awakening is facing as a result of the revelation of not using
fair-trade coffee suppliers in the past.
The message the company is now trying to convey is that they have moved
back to the original business values that the company was founded on. The SEO keywords cover every phase of the
scandal and should work well to ensure a strong presence as far as SEO is
concerned. However, keywords are not
only about SEO, they are actually the words that are the foundation of a
company’s marketing plan (Mothner, 2010).
